Jan Brewer, the Governor of Arizona is hopping mad and I can’t blame her. First she finds out the U.S. Government is suing her state over the constitutionality of S.B. 1070 when Hillary Clinton made the announcement while visiting Ecuador. If this wasn’t bad enough Clinton’s State Department, under Obama’s direction is reporting Arizona to the United Nations Human Rights Council. I guess Arizona is having a bad year.
First Arizona has a rash of murders and kidnappings credited to the states massive influx of illegal immigrations. Next they are sued by the justice department over S.B. 1070 and now they are in trouble with the United Nations. How about that for a trifecta?
The State Department included a Justice Department lawsuit against Arizona's immigration law into a United Nations human rights report to show how U.S. rule of law can be an example to the world. Spokesman P.J. Crowley said the Arizona immigration law included in an August 20 report to the U.N. high commissioner on rights came up during the preparation period, when teams went around the country gathering ideas for the report. Just what is the Human Rights Council. Well, here is the official description filled with UN Speak. “The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is an inter-governmental body within the United Nations System. The UNHRC is the successor to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights (UNCHR, herein CHR), and is a subsidiary body of the United Nations General Assembly. The council works closely with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
The General Assembly established the UNHRC by adopting a resolution (A/RES/60/251) on 15 March 2006, in order to replace the previous CHR, which had been heavily criticized for allowing countries with poor human rights records to be members.
According to human rights groups, the council is controlled by a bloc of Islamic and African states, backed by China, Cuba and Russia, who protect each other from criticism. UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and former High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson have criticized the council for acting according to political considerations as opposed to human rights. Specifically, Secretaries General Kofi Annan and Ban Ki Moon, the council's president Doru Costea, the European Union, Canada and the United States have accused the council of focusing disproportionately on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. The United States boycotted the Council during the George W. Bush administration, but reversed its position on it during the Obama administration. Click here for a more detailed report
Now that we are members of the UNHRC we are on the same team with those illustrious bastions of human rights such as; Angola, Egypt, Libya, Nigeria, Zambia, China, Pakistan, Russia, Rwanda, Cuba and that shining example of human rights Saudi Arabia. Wow, what a great bunch of guys to be associated with. I would guess that the conglomerate of these nations have been responsible for at least 100 million deaths along with torture, rape, discrimination, and clitoridectomy. Now we can add Arizona to this group of human and women’s rights violators for the most egregious crimes against humanity – checking for identification from a suspected illegal immigrant.
The Council also comprises Malaysia, Mauritania, Uganda, Angola, and Qatar. In Uganda, "wife-beating is a husband's prerogative." Monitoring of internet chat rooms and widespread rape of inmates occurs in Angola, while "in Malaysia, religious authorities arrest 'deviants' (homosexuals) in order to return them to the 'true path of Islam.'" In Qatar, "the law calls for 10 year sentences for individuals proselytizing anything but Islam, and conversion away from Islam (apostate) is a capital offense." Furthermore, "the legal system treats with leniency men who murder women where there has been 'immodesty' on the part of the victim." Syria promotes the infamous blood libel against Israel, and Algeria describes Israelis as "butchers."
What on God’s green earth is this administration thinking? Joining this council is giving credence to their legitimacy. According to Secretary of State Clinton this report will act as a model to hopefully influence these despotic states to do better by their people – Poppycock.
So against this backdrop, Barack Hussein Obama now has the United States positioned to come under international review by some of the most brutal and despotic nations in the world. The Obama administration has issued a 29-page report, the first ever "Universal Period Review (UPR) report" to the United Nations by the United States.
And lo and behold, the State of Arizona is included in this report. In section 94, the report states that:
Under section 287(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, DHS may delegate authority to state and local officers to enforce federal immigration law. DHS has made improvements to the 287(g) program, including implementing a new, standardized Memorandum of Agreement with state and local partners that strengthens program oversight and provides uniform guidelines for DHS supervision of state and local agency officer operations; information reporting and tracking; complaint procedures; and implementation measures. DHS continues to evaluate the program, incorporating additional safeguards as necessary to aid in the prevention of racial profiling and civil rights violations and improve accountability for protecting human rights.
95. A recent Arizona law, S.B. 1070, has generated significant attention and debate at home and around the world. The issue is being addressed in a court action that argues that the federal government has the authority to set and enforce immigration law. That action is ongoing; parts of the law are currently enjoined.
96. President Obama remains firmly committed to fixing our broken immigration system, because he recognizes that our ability to innovate, our ties to the world, and our economic prosperity depend on our capacity to welcome and assimilate immigrants. The Administration will continue its efforts to work with the U.S. Congress and affected communities toward this end.
In a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer writes that "the idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a state of the United States to 'review' by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional. Human rights as guaranteed by the United States and Arizona Constitutions are expressly protected in S.B. 1070 and defended vigorously by my Administration."
“In fact, S.B. 1070 clearly states that "a law enforcement official or agency of this state or a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state may not consider race, color or national origin in implementing the requirements of this subsection.”
Furthermore, Governor Brewer has said that "the State of Arizona will fight any attempt by the U.S. Department of State and the United Nations to interfere with the duly enacted laws of the State of Arizona in accordance with the U.S. Constitution."
Because of Obama's decision to have America join the Council, American taxpayers are now financially supporting anti-Israel, anti-American rhetoric and hatred "posted, translated and broadcast around the world." That a single dollar is used to promote this disgusting agenda is deplorable; that the man who is supposed to represent the best interests of America should sanction it makes one wonder about his true allegiance. There are no patriots on the Left – there, as Mark Levine says, “I said it.”
This is just another example of the Left gone amuck. We have allowed the Left to dictate the rules of dialogue in this county for too long. According to the anti-American Left all the United States is good for is foreign aid. We (our nation) is a bunch of cowardly racists who are guilty of about everything from climate change to imperialism.
They practice race warfare, class warfare, sexuality warfare, and the golden goose of race warfare. They will say they believe in America, but they really don’t. They have been brought up in a government run education systems that teaches them all the bad things this nation did in our history and nothing of the tremendous amount of good or the freedoms we inherited from our Founding Fathers. They believe in the collective good and the welfare state. It’s no wonder we have a president who now wants this nation to be subservient to international governance.
Take as one small example of the Department of justice has changed the appearance of their web site. They have removed the stars and stripes banner and replaced with a black and white banner bearing the words; "The common law is the will of mankind, issuing from the life of the people." Catchy, huh? Just one tiny little (too small to be relevant) point -- the quote is from C. Wilfred Jenks, who in the 1930's was a leading proponent of the "international law" movement, which had as its goal to impose a global common law and which backed ‘global workers' rights.
Call it Marxism, call it Progressivism, call it Socialism – under any of those names it definitely makes the DOJ look corrupt in their sleek, new black website with Marxist accessories to match. What next a hammer and sickle? Check it out by clicking here.
There were many John the Baptists crying in the wilderness in 2008 about Barak Obama. They were vilified as racists or worse. The public voted for a man based on his rhetoric and personality not his record or associations. The conservatives were not happy with the Republican candidate and many of them boycotted the polls. As John McCain said, “elections have consequences’, and they surely did.
The concession of Lisa Murkowski to her Tea Party endorsed opponent Joe Miller in Alaska is just another example of the rise of conservatism in this country. It is incumbent on us to unite behind conservative and Republican candidates this November. We may not think too highly of the Republican in your district or state, but you need to begin changing the political elite leadership in this country. You may not get all you want this November but as Confucius says, “The longest journey begins with the first step” and we have a long way to go. You can change the RHINO candidate in the next primary. In the meantime you can keep their feet to the fire with your activism.
