Last week Raheel Raza appeared on the Bill O’Reilly Show to condemn the building of the Islamic Culturally Center at Ground Zero. Raza, the author of the book, “Their Jihad, Not My Jihad” is a member of the Board of the Muslim Canadian Congress and an outspoken critic of Imam Fisal Abdul Rauf and his plans to construct the mosque and cultural center a mere 400 yards from Ground Zero.
Raza’s comments were the most cogent comments I have ever heard from a Muslim regarding the mosque and American-Islamic relations in general. She is not afraid to take on the people at CAIR and other Islamic lobbing groups. She also questions the funding for the mosque and is suspicious of the motives of the people behind the mosque. She has received phone calls from Daisy Khan, the wife of Imam Fisal Abdul Rauf, and Sharif El Gamal. Gamal is the owner of SOHO properties, the corporation that owns the building where they want to construct the mosque. To view the video of her comments click here.
Daisy Khan, the executive director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA), has been credited with being the real brains behind the building of the mosque at Ground Zero. She has been making appearances on all of the news and talk shows spinning her husband’s remarks about Sharia Law and America’s involvement with the attacks on 9/11, often with mixed and confusing remarks.
It appears to me that this group is pushing this mosque for two reasons. The first and probably most important is to plant the victory flag of Islam at Ground Zero and promote Sharia Law in the United States. The second is to make money on the deal. It has been reported that Gamal, a former waiter, picked up the property for a very low price. If Rauf and Khan decide to act in benevolent way and sell the properly so they can move the mosque to another location he will be able to triple his investment.
Daisy Khan states that they are building the mosque to promote tolerance and understanding and those against it are nothing more than bigots against Islam. In an interview with Christiane Amanpour on CNN she went as far as comparing those against the building of the mosque with the KKK’s activities against Catholics. Of course Ms. Amanpour, in her high brow, clipped British accent, did not challenge the statement.
There is a trail going on Federal Court in New York where four men are charged with plotting to bomb Jewish Synagogues. James Cromitie, Onta Williams, David Williams and Laguerre Payen have pleaded not guilty to charges that they engaged in a conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction and conspiracy to acquire and use anti-aircraft missiles to kill U.S. officers and employees. They face possible life prison terms if convicted.
Authorities last year called the case a "chilling plot" involving "extremely violent men" who represented a growing, dire homegrown terrorism threat. But the government also concedes the men — targets of an elaborate, tightly scripted sting involving fake weapons, 100 officers and a spy plane — had no ties to actual terrorists.
The point to focus on here is that the plot was hatched and the planning took place in the Newburgh mosque, a small town north of New York City, As Steven Emerson has stated, in his book American Jihad, these mosques are placed where these attacks are hatched, planned or funded.
