Also (forbidden are) women already married, except those whom your right hands possess. Thus has Allah ordained for you. All others are lawful, provided you seek them from your property, desiring chastity, not fornication. So with those among them whom you have enjoyed, give them their required due, but if you agree mutually after the requirement (has been determined), there is no sin on you. Surely, Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise. — Quran 4:24
There is no equivalent term for ‘rape’ in the Quran. Likewise, there is not a single verse in the Quran which even remotely discourages forced sex. In contrast, there are several verses in this book which give the green light to rape and other sexual crimes against women.
Breaking her silence, Lara Logan (aptly) categorizes her own 2/11/11 "sexual assault" by some 200 to 300 Egyptian “democracy advocates” as a merciless, extended rape.
Ms. Logan, a CBS News correspondent, was in the square preparing a report for “60 Minutes” on Feb. 11 when the celebratory mood suddenly turned threatening. She was ripped away from her producer and bodyguard by a group of men who tore at her clothes and groped and beat her body. “For an extended period of time, they raped me with their hands,” Ms. Logan said in an interview with The New York Times. She estimated that the attack involved 200 to 300 men.
Ms. Logan, who returned to work this month, is expected to speak at length about the assault on the CBS News program “60 Minutes” on Sunday night.
Logan is quoted in a recent New York Times article as saying; “For an extended period of time, they raped me with their hands...My clothes were torn to pieces...What really struck me was how merciless they were. They really enjoyed my pain and suffering. It incited them to more violence.
Ms. Logan also acknowledges her own ignorance of the violent misogyny characteristic of Egyptian and Muslim society, noting:
“I would have paid more attention to it if I had had any sense of it. When women are harassed and subjected to this in society, they're denied an equal place in that society. Public spaces don't belong to them. Men control it. It reaffirms the oppressive role of men in the society.”
Logan concludes with a chilling anecdote which illuminates the rape culture endemic in Egypt, and her relative good fortune:
“Among the letters she received, she said, was one from a woman who lives in Canada who was raped in the back of a taxi in Cairo in early February, amid the protests there. ”That poor woman had to go into the airport begging people to help her," Ms. Logan recalled. When she returned home, "her family told her not to talk about it." Ms. Logan said that as she read the letter, she started to sob. "It was a reminder to me of how fortunate I was," she said.
But at least in this 4/28/11 NY Times story, which previews a pending 60 Minutes interview, she apparently makes no comment about the reported Jew-hating taunts (Logan is not a Jew) of her attackers.
For the life of me I cannot understand the blind support Islam receives from the left in the west. Since 600 B.C. Islam has been a cultist religion based on the teaching of a misogynist, narcissist who had no respect for women or other religions.
Rape is virtually impossible to prove under Islamic law (Sharia) and even in more moderate countries. If the man claims that the act was consensual sex, there is very little that the woman can do to refute this. Islam places the burden of avoiding sexual encounters of any sort on the woman.
There can be no such thing as rape in marriage, even if the husband has to hit the wife in order to bring about her submission. As a recent fatwa reminds a woman, she "does not have the right to refuse her husband, rather she must respond to his request every time he calls her." (Islam Q&A, Fatwa No. 33597).
Under Islamic law, rape can only be proven if the rapist confesses or if there are four male witnesses. Women who allege rape, without the benefit of the act having been witnessed by four men who subsequently develop a conscience, are actually confessing to having sex. If they or the accused happens to be married, then it is considered to be adultery.
It has been reported that Mohammed also married a six year old and raped her when she was nine. At that time the Quran stated a woman needed three witnesses to rape, which the girl had, so Mohammed changed the law to require four witnesses. Pedophilia is also rampant among Islamic nations
The Quran states:
Quran (2:282) - Establishes that a woman's testimony is worth only half that of a man's in court (there is no "he said/she said" gridlock in Islam).
Quran (24:4) - "And those who accuse free women then do not bring four witnesses (to adultery), flog them..."
Quran (24:13) - "Why did they not bring four witnesses of it? But as they have not brought witnesses they are liars before Allah."
Quran (2:223) - "Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will..." There is no such thing as rape in marriage, as a man is permitted unrestricted sexual access to his wives.”
It a personality like Joy Behar, a liberal Jewish woman comedian, were to walk the streets of Cairo, or many other Islamic cities, after dark she would be accosted and no doubt sexually assaulted like Lara Logan was. And if the perpetrators thought she was Jewish she would fortunate to escape with her life, even if policemen were nearby. Yet this same woman will spout her defense of Islam on daily appearance on the View without any regard to what Islam really is — a cultist religion of intolerance, misogyny, violence and hate.
I plan to watch 60 Minutes this Sunday night, a show I have not seen for over 10 years, to see what Lara Logan says about her attackers. I hope she tells the truth and makes no excuses for Islam.
