What Happened To Civility

"Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose." — Rules for Radicals - Saul Alinsky

In her Blog, on American Thinker, Robin of Berkley writes; “I have noticed fewer people around town this past weekend. First I thought it was because of the Presidents Day holiday. Then I realized it was because anarchists were being bused into Wisconsin! More for them, and fewer for us!”

“The Midwest is getting a bit of a taste of Berkeley life. I'm guessing they are not liking it one bit. The violent, hostile vibe wouldn't sit well with decent Midwestern folks. Of course, around Berkeley, riots are nothing new; there are street uprisings whenever the spirit moves people.”

Robin is a recovering liberal and a practicing psychotherapist in Berkeley, California. She continues in her blog; “When the infamous BART police shooting occurred a few years ago, there was lawlessness all over downtown Oakland. Cars were destroyed, stores ransacked and looted, and people were injured. Of course, many joined in who weren't motivated by righteous indignation, but by the promise of free jewelry and clothes.”

“And, when the verdict was announced, there were riots again, because, well, why not? Since the law-abiding don't balk at rampant criminality, there's an incentive to act out. And to borrow from Rahm Emanuel: Never let a crisis go to waste — especially when you can procure a new television set!”

Michelle Malkin writes on Townhall.com; “Barack Obama's new era of civility was over before it began. You wouldn't know it from reading The New York Times, watching Katie Couric or listening to the Democratic manners police. But America has been overrun by foul-mouthed, fist-clenching wildebeests.”

“Yes, the tea party movement is responsible — for sending these liberal goons into an insane rage, that is. After enduring two years of false smears as sexist, racist, homophobic barbarians, it is grassroots conservatives and taxpayer advocates who have been ceaselessly subjected to rhetorical projectile vomit. It is Obama's rank-and-file "community organizers" on the streets fomenting the hate against their political enemies. Not the other way around.”

“The trendy new epithet among Big Labor organizers who've been camping out at the Madison, Wis., Capitol building for more than a week to block GOP Gov. Scott Walker's budget reform bill: "Koch whore." Classy, huh? It's a reference to the reviled Koch brothers, David and Charles, who have used their energy-industry wealth to support limited-government activism. A left-wing agitator based in Buffalo who impersonated Koch in a prank phone call this week used the slur to headline his "gonzo journalism" report. (If a right-leaning activist had perpetrated such a stunt, he'd be labeled a radical, stalking fraudster. But that's par for the media's double-standards course.)”

Malkin continues; “Sexual vulgarity is a common theme in the left's self-styled "solidarity" movement. Among the Madison pro-union signs the national media chose not to show you: "Buttholes for Billionaires" (complete with a photo of Walker's head placed in the middle of a graphic photo of someone's posterior) and "If teabaggers are as hot as their Fox News anchors, then I'm here for the gang bang!!!"

“Last month, GOP Lieutenant Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch was subjected to similar misogyny for her outreach efforts to private businesses. Liberal WTDY radio host John "Sly" Sylvester accused her of performing "fellatio on all the talk-show hosts in Milwaukee" and sneered that she had "pulled a train" (a crude phrase for group sex).”

“At an AFSCME rally in Providence, R.I., on Tuesday, an unhinged pro-union supporter picked an unprovoked fight with a citizen journalist taping the event for public access TV. His eyes bulging, the brawler yelled: "I'll f**k you in the a**, you faggot!" After several unsuccessful minutes of trying to calm their furious ally down, the solidarity mob finally started chanting, "Hey, hey, ho, ho, union-busting's got to go" to drown out his intimidating vow to follow the cameraman outside the building. Criminal charges are now pending against him. None of the local media who covered the event thought to mention the disruption in their coverage.”

On February 23, members of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) took their labor union protests to the Washington, D.C. offices of Freedom Works, a conservative activist organization. The group, consisting of unions including AFSCME, NEA, SEUI, AFT and ATU, protested outside Freedom Works HQ in DC. The Freedom Works staff were cussed at and called names. A Jewish member of Freedom Works staff was called a "bad Jew.”

Tabitha HaleTabitha Hale, a staff member of Freedom Works, was physically assaulted by a union protester. The video shows the protester, in a heated debate with a young man, turn his frustration on the woman recording the exchange, snarl, and whack her. The attack knocked the woman’s camera to the ground.

So where is the great “Civilator”, Barack Obama? After the Tucson shootings Obama and his Democrat cronies made a big deal of pointing fingers at Tea Party rhetoric and blaming them for the mood in the country that was responsible for the mentally deranged Jared Lee Loughner to shoot and seriously wound Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and kill six others, including a federal judge.

CWA union member assaults Freedom Works reporter. You can see the expression of hate on his face

Obama made big deal of the lack of civility in our national debate at his University of Arizona speech. Other Democrats and the liberal media were quick to take up the call for “civility” Well, where are those media folks and Democrats now? When they see their supporters screaming at people with a different view, carrying obscene signs and actually assaulting them (something there is no evidence that any Tea Party member ever did) they remain quiet. After all they cannot say anything against their supporters — these are the people who give them money and vote for them.

AS for the media, what can we expect? They have been in the tank for the Democrat party for the past 50 years. You cannot watch a network news show and get the truth about what is happening across the nation. All you will get is Democrat party spin. When asked about the status of CBS news, David Rhodes the newly appointed president of the news division replied “fantastic”. Yea, Curic, Schieffer and the rest of the gang there are doing a fantastic job of bring the truth to the American people. They have not uttered one word or showed one video of the signs, the actions or the incivility of the union protestors — after all they are Democrats.
